By day, I’m a teacher, but my true passion lies in baking. I’ve always loved spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes. As I delved deeper into the world of food and the ingredients in store-bought products, I became increasingly motivated to make things from scratch.
My journey into sourdough baking began with a desire to be more mindful about what we eat. I took the time to cultivate my own sourdough starter and now delight in baking sourdough bread and incorporating it into a variety of recipes. Growing up with farmers in my family from the heartland of America, I remember exploring basements filled with home-canned goods, a tradition I wanted to revive.
This journey led me to making and canning jam, which pairs perfectly with my homemade sourdough bread. It's all about embracing a healthier, more mindful approach to eating while honoring cherished traditions.
